While it sounded like a good idea at the time, permanent makeup can turn into something akin to tattoo regret for a person. The advantage to semi-permanent makeup is that the semi-permanent makeup fades sooner. The person does not have to live with their makeup decisions for as long. They gain the flexibility to try something on a short term basis. They can see if it fits in with their lifestyle and personal aesthetics.

Lip enhancements include lip liner, lip colour, and extending the lip line beyond the current state. The process can also be used for minimizing the appearance of scars. Semi-permanent makeup costs about the same as permanent makeup. The labour is practically identical. The materials, while different, do not differ that much in cost. Semi-permanent makeup provides a great opportunity for those for like the idea of permanent makeup but do not want to make a decision they have to live with for up to ten years.
